Knowledgehook ReBranding

An EdTech with big dreams of empowering the minds of tomorrow through practical and engaging math education.
I helped rebrand Knowledgehook from a scrappy startup into a fully realized brand system with expressive illustrations, brand guidelines, and a full website redesign that makes learning feel fun.
While working in-house as the lead Brand Designer at Knowledgehook for 6 years, I, alongside the marketing team, refreshed and evoled the brand and all marketing and internal collateral to it's fullest potential.

Rather than replacing the existing identity, I his allowed Knowledgehook to retain regognition while creating a more modern and scalable visual system.
Knowledgehook occupied a unique position within the education market.
But they didn’t know how to utilize it.
Many educational products focus on either student engagement or academic performance. Knowledgehook succeeds because it delivers both. It provides teachers with meaningful classroom insights while giving students a rewarding learning experience.
This became the foundation of the brand strategy.

Rather than position Knowledgehook as a game or a piece of software, we positioned it as a trusted teaching partner, one that helps educators support student growth while celebrating achievement along the way.

The visual identity needed to appeal to two audiences at the same time: educators looking for reliable learning outcomes and students looking for interesting and engaging experiences.

The broader visual system was designed to make educational content feel approachable and engaging without sacrificing professionalism.

Illustrations became more expressive, characters were given more personality, and brighter colours were introduced throughout the brand. These changes and more helped humanize the product while maintaining credibility with educators.

The refreshed identity helped Knowledgehook present itself as the mature, established company it had become.

The new brand better reflects the product’s role as a trusted partner to teachers and students. Supporting education, celebrating student achievement, and creating confidence in math both inside and outside the classroom.
